Théâtre d’Esch, Luxembourg

In cooperation with MemoShoah Luxembourg, the Foundation of the Memory of the Shoah in Luxembourg, the Luxembourg Delegation of the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance (IHRA), the Luxembourg Committee commemorating the Second World War, The National Museum of the Resistence in Luxembourg, The Auschwitz Committee Luxembourg, The Witnesses Of The Second Generation of Luxembourg, the Jewish Community in Esch/Alzette, the Theater in Esch/Alzette and the Municipality of Esch/Alzette.

Tehorah, which means “pure” in Hebrew, is a heartbreaking, promising musical story about war, loss, hope, love and forgiveness. The soirée contains German, Yiddish and Hebrew songs that were composed and written exclusively by Jewish composers and lyricists; but at the same time Tehorah is a historical-poetic portrait. First performed at Carnegie Hall in New York, the concert now commemorates the liberation of Auschwitz-Birkenau 75 years ago and sends out a message of hope for peace among the nations.

January 27 was proclaimed the International Day of Remembrance of the Holocaust Victims by the United Nations in 2005.
